Your First Trip To Pattaya
Chapter 5: Hooker Discos & Freelancers
There are freelancers all around Walking Street and Beach Road and pretty much any time you see a sexy girl in that area you can inquire about her prices. Just do so in a polite and respectful way and back off if you realize you made a mistake and she isn’t working. But she will very likely be working.
I will start with what many refer to as the ‘gold standard’ for freelancers in Pattaya and that is iBar and Insomnia. This is basically a 2 story disco located in the middle of Walking Street and it is safe to assume every girl in the place is a freelancer.
That doesn’t mean every girl there will go with you, and it doesn’t mean every girl is actively seeking a guy that night, but feel free to approach any girl in here and find out if you have a chance.
The bottom floor is iBar and it is more of a laid back bar atmosphere. It is generally less crowded and a lot easier to roam around in. There are probably 100ish tables in there and each will have a few girls standing around.
They will be dressed to impress and it is kind of like picking up a girl at a regular bar, except that they are hookers. The music isn’t as loud as upstairs and it is more R&B then the fistpumper stuff you get upstairs at Insomnia.
The girls are (in general) a bit hotter in iBar, but many of the girls rotate between the two so you never know. There are stairs inside at the back right corner that you can take to go up or down.
Insomnia is upstairs and is your standard fistpumping disco. Super crowded, hard to maneuver, people everywhere bumping into you, loud music, impossible to talk to anyone… why do people like these places?
Anyways, there are going to be lots and lots of girls in here but the quality is a bit less then downstairs. That doesn’t mean you can’t find one that will make you happy.
Since I hate to drink or be in a bar for any longer then I have to for me the best way to do it is to just walk up to a girl and ask ‘want come my room?’ and get a negotiation going right off the bat.
That is what I did my first time in Pattaya and it worked pretty well, my 2nd time I was asking for their Line ID to text them later and that had mixed success. So you probably are best off asking them to go with you then, if they say they are busy then ask for their Line.
If you don’t know Line is a texting app that basically all the girls in Thailand use. No one texts here they use Line. If a girl tells you she doesn’t have Line she is probably lying and just doesn’t like you, it happens to the best of us :(.
The annoying thing about hooker discos is that some girls won’t go with you unless you ‘pick them up’ like you are in a regular bar, and as if you don’t have to pay them in the morning.
If you have read my blog at all you know how I feel about this: I am not ‘picking up’ a hooker unless she is super hot. There were no girls in iBar that were hot enough to get me to play silly games.
If you enjoy places like this then by all means by the girl a drink and enjoy your night. It will probably work out better for you than it did for me, and you may even get her to drop her price if she likes you or is at least comfortable with you.
When dealing with freelancers it is impossible to tell you an exact price. A girl may tell one guy 1000 and another guy 2000. A girl may just want to party with her friends that night and not feel like going with a guy.
There are so many variables at play, but from what I could tell 1500 seems to be a fair rate for girls in iBar or Insomnia. You may be able to get some to go for 1000, and some may ask for 2000 or even more.
It is up to you how much you want to pay, and all you have to do is turn your head and you will see how many other available girls there are. If a girl seems worth the price go for it, if not move on to the next.
And it is the same as with the Gogo girls, go ahead and have a quick chat about what you expect to happen during the evening before you head to your room. But with the freelancers at iBar and Insomnia you probably want to speak a bit more ‘gently’ about it then with the Gogo girls.
Some iBar and Insomnia girls are hard core, others are trying to pretend they aren’t hookers. At the very least you need to confirm how long you want her to stay.
The last thing you want is to agree on 1500 or 2000 thinking it is all night and then get into an argument with her when she puts her clothes back on after round 1 and asks to get paid.
I have been in iBar at least 50 times now and have never bought a drink. There really is no reason to, though if you want to stand around a table you probably have to buy one.
There’s another 7000 words in the full ebook and map! I’ll be constantly updating both as I take future trips.
