Luxury Condos in Manila for Poker Players
Most of the poker players I know end up in luxury condos in Manila. Western standard, modern high-rise condominium blocks, in trendy, safer areas like Makati (centrally located).
Top 2 Luxury Condos in Manila
Below are a couple of common options they go for, and many expats and richer locals in general.
Gramercy is in the heart of Makati, near Greenbelt, Burgos Street, and Rockwell.
Outside of the great location and world class ‘hyper amenities’ as they call them, one of the main reasons many people stay there is because you can find month to month rentals at Gramercy, even some daily or weekly. That’s not always easy to find for Manila condos.
Gramercy has three swimming pools, a 25 meter lap pool, a freeform infinity pool, and a children’s pool. All of them have overlook the Makati skyline.
Gramercy also has a gym open 24/7. Read our full review of Gramercy.
You can get a massage or spa treatment in your own building, and there is a yoga and pilates room as well in a very peaceful setting. There is also a meditation garden for another place to chill, and a lounge and bar on the 71st floor (top floor).
The building has good wifi so if you are working online you should be set. Most of the rooms are internet ready so you won’t need to worry about waiting for everything to get set up. That is really nice because it can take a couple weeks to get your installation done here.
The studio rooms are quite small. You’re mostly paying for location, facilities and views.

Here’s a link to check Craigslist Manila for Gramercy rentals. At the time of writing I see e.g. 27 – 45 sqm units for around 25000 – 40000 Pesos ($550 – $880) per month.
Located in Pasay the Solemare Parksuites is a new building that is a great option for anyone wanting to play live poker. It is much closer to the main casinos for poker (3 mins to Solaire) than Gramercy, and is much cheaper. Also close to SM mall.
You can get rooms here for as little as 20,000 pesos a month if going month to month, and a little cheaper if you want to sign a 6 month lease. The one bedroom units are a bit small, but the two bedrooms look very nice.
It does not feature the same ‘hyper-amenities’ as Gramercy, but it does have one very nice pool and gym. There is also wifi in the building, game room with pool tables, a mini theatre, lounge, karaoke room and basketball court.
The Pasay area is definitely a bit rougher than Makati so be aware of that.
Here’s a link to check Craigslist Manila for Solemare rentals. At the time of writing I see adverts for e.g. 26 – 58 sqm units for around 20000 – 42000 Pesos ($440 – $920) per month. The largest rooms are 4 bed 160sqm units.
Other Month to Month Accommodation in Manila
The only other monthly serviced apartments I am aware of are all located in the area right around Burgos.
I don’t know the exact names of the buildings, but there are a lot of apartments within a few hundred meters of Burgos street in all directions that will do month to month contracts.
The cheapest I saw was about 20k a month and the room was fine. However they were not internet ready so if you were doing month to month you would have to rely on mobile data which can be shaky in the Philippines.
I have heard the 4g works well in Makati so you might be fine with that.
Usually luxury condos in Manila want 1 months rent in advance and 2 months deposit. You can find some good stuff on Airbnb and avoid signing contracts short term, use this link for $20 off your first booking.
