I wrote my first ever ebook!ย Now on Amazonย for the price of a couple beers. Update – also added a map.

angeles-map-nightlife-nomad-philippines

It’s a mini survival guide to sampling the delights of Angeles City, the first place I lived in the Philippines. Basically everything I wish I knew before going.ย If you don’t have a Kindle there’s an Amazon appย to read ebooks on PC, smartphone or tablet.

For my loyal blog readers, here’s the first 1000 words free.ย ย The rest is on Amazonย for $4.99.

Your First Trip To Angeles

Chapter 1: Why Angeles City

Let’s face it, if you are reading this then you probably have one main goal on your mind for your trip to the Philippines: girls.ย  There isn’t much else to do in the Philippines outside of girls and relax on the beach.ย  You can find a willing beach anywhere; a willing girl is another story.

So why do I think Angeles City is the best spot for your vacation?ย  Because it has all the girls you could ever want without the hassles that the other cities have.ย  Sure you will get laid in Manila, it won’t be that hard.ย  But there will be more time, effort and money put into it than in Angeles.

Angeles City has 5,000+ working girls in a small area with no traffic.ย  It has cheaper hotels, cheaper food, and no need for taxis.ย  If you have never been to Manila you really can’t imagine how frustrating getting from point A to point B there can be.

You probably will only have a limited amount of time on your vacation and won’t want to be wasting it sitting in a taxi waiting to get to your destination.ย  Before I moved to Asia my heart was set on living in Manila.ย  In three years I have never spent more than 10 straight days there.

Every time I am there I realize after a few days that all I am doing is wasting more time and spending more money to get the exact same end result.ย  Manila is also a bit more dangerous then Angeles and there is more you have to be on the look out for.

If you are a seasoned world traveler then you will be fine in Manila.ย  If this is your first trip to a third world country then you don’t want to have to go through the learning curve in the most densely populated city in the world.ย  Take your baby steps in laid back Angeles.

So what about Cebu? It’s a nice place right?ย  I absolutely love Cebu.ย  It is probably my favorite city to live in anywhere in the world.ย  But my first trip to Cebu was terrible and I ended up leaving after 3 weeks even though I had paid for a month at my hotel.

angeles ebook guideThis was unpleasant, but it wasn’t that big of a deal.ย  However if I had flown to the other side of the world and this was the 3 weeks I had been looking forward to for 6 months it would have been an absolute disaster.

I still had a few good nights on that trip, you will have some good nights anywhere in Phils, its just easier in Angeles.

Angeles is just one small area with all the bars and western owned restaurants packed into one small box.ย  Everything is within a few miles of each other and it doesn’t take long at all to get anywhere.

Manila and Cebu are big cities.ย  Cebu is pretty easily navigated, but the spots you will go are spread out.ย  Manila is not easily navigated at all.

Then there is the money factor.ย  Everything is cheaper in Angeles.ย  Most importantly the girls are a lot cheaper in Angeles. Barfines are much higher in Manila and Cebu and the girls want bigger tips too.

Freelancers are more expensive too, though you can find some cheap ones in certain areas of Cebu.ย Those areas probably aren’t the best place for a third world first timer to be hunting for girls though.

There is also better food in Angeles and lots of good western food around.ย  You don’t really want to risk eating things that may get you sick and mess up your trip.ย  It might happen anyways because that usually happens your first time in a third world country, but I can point you towards restaurants that I’ve eaten at 50 times and never got sick.

I’ve lived in Angeles for over a year and the following chapters will give you some tips to make your trip as easy and stress free as possible.ย  Even though Angeles is the easiest place for this in Asia it will still be very beneficial to have done some research before you arrive.

Chapter 2: Getting To Angeles from Manila

I am going to assume that you have just got off a long flight and landed at NAIA airport in Manila.ย  If you landed in Clark then you can get a jeep into Angeles for 50 pesos and can skip most of this chapter.ย  If I am correct that you will land in Manila then read on.

First you need to decide if you want to go straight to Angeles, or do you want to get some rest in Manila first.ย  Angeles is less then two hours away so I prefer just to get all the travel over with and make it 1 day of unpleasantness instead of two.

To get to Angeles from Manila you have a few options.ย  Cheapest option is to take a Victory Liner bus.ย  Doing this is very simple and will save you $50+.ย When you arrive at NAIA do not go out the arrivals exit.ย  If you do you will be swarmed by touts trying to get you to take all sorts of overpriced modes of transportation.ย  This one tip alone will may save you the cost of this eBook.

Instead you want to go upstairs to the departures area, again this is before exiting the building.ย  Just ask any security guard or staff and they can point you in your way.ย  Quick side note: if you ever are lost and need assistance the best people to ask are security guards in the white shirts.ย  They are all over in the Philippines and are extremely helpful.

OK so now you are on your way up to arrivals.ย  You will have to take a bit of a walk to find the exit where the ‘white metered taxis’ are.ย  Thatย  is what you will need to ask for if you can’t find them.ย  Just make sure that the meter says 40 pesos when you get inside…

There’s another 7000 words in the full ebook and map! ย More interesting stuff like how the bars work, what the girls are like,ย freelancers, places to stay, stuff to do, and more. Map pins include hooker spots, non hooker spots, apartments, hotels, gyms and restaurants. I’ll be constantly updating the map as I hear about newย places.

Working as a call center trainer for Sitel I lived in Makati (expensive place) Angeles City and Baguio City all spread out in 7 years. Angeles City is the cheapest by far but a lot of distractions. With a salary of $2,500 a month, it is too easy to make a lot of girlfriends and also enemy ex-girlfriends. You get the reputation of “butterfly” and being a small area it can be distracting. Baguio is where I met my wife on my last 3 years. She was a nurse buy practice but because Sitel paid her much better she worked with them as a call center agent. I am so pleased to have met this lady. Married 4 years now and it has been wonderful. She is now working as a nurse here in the US and I was able to run my own real estate business that is doing well. Look for the well educated principled girl if you plan on marrying. If you marry a bar girl that is usually what you get when she is your wife.

    • kick2dante says:

no first hand advice, from what i have heard a decent but not great freelancer scene. i’ve heard they can charge a bit more

I’m excited to read your book. Exactly what I need while planning my trip. Quick question (apologies if it’s covered in the ebook – let me know if it is).
What is the non-pro (eg college girl) scene like in Angeles? I like to chase local girls (the “I’m looking for a girlfriend!” lie) and then hit the hookers if I strike out. Strategy worked perfectly in BKK. Any experience with that scene (eg via dating apps) in Angeles?

    • jspill says:

Not a huge amount, it’s a small hooker city. For example if I filter for Angeles (Pampanga) profiles online now with a photo there’s 49 girls on Pinalove. Compared to 841 on Thaifriendly for Bangkok.

Wechat was similarly quiet, just a few massage girls / freelancers. You could try chasing chicks at SM mall.

Strategy would work very well in Manila though.

      • James says:

Thanks jspill. Agree re Manila but I’m attracted to Angeles for other reasons. Looking for somewhere quiet by day (so I can work my online day job) with cheap yet good night time activities. Angeles sounds almost perfect. Just one 1-2 non pros … ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜ˆ

  8. James says:

I suppose if I meet a girl on Pinalove in Manila and like the sound of her I could pay her bus / taxi from Manila?

  9. kick2dante says:

the i’m looking for a girlfriend lie? other dude bragging about cumming inside then running……. wtf is wrong with you guys?

    • James says:

I don’t pretend to be an angel (I’m an asshole). But you really can’t compare the two Dante. One is a dating strategy (albeit dishonest) and the other is seriously fucked up – I mean in a catholic anti-abortion country, cumming then running can seriously permanently fuck up a girls life.
But making out like you’re open to something more serious is hardly a crime. The last time (I mean a previous time) I did that I wound up marrying her ๐Ÿ˜‚

      • kick2dante says:

i totally agree that one is way worse……. but why are you going to a known hooker city to lie to girls when you have hundreds of options of girls that will gladly bang you for $15-$50

in the western world when there are no other options then lying is one thing, but going to lie and lead on impoverished girls with the hopes of a better life for absolutely no reason is just being scummy for no reason at all

  10. Steven says:

I’m want to get a hotel in Angeles City, on Fields or Walking Street or nearby with a jacuzzi in the room. You know of any ?

  11. Chris says:

Do you know how noisy the rooms are in the abc-hotel?

  12. Johnny says:

Hi there, just bought the ebook but the map seems to have disappeared.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

    Cheers
